Many years ago, in fact well over 35, I met a family in Arkansas that were big fishermen and hunters. In fact I fished against his grandfather many times. David at the time was a high schooler that I helped bag his first deer. (Had forgotten that.) Since then we have gone our separate ways but kept in touch via Facebook. We both ended up in the west, small world and you just never know. I have really enjoyed his photos and adventures over the years from Montana, they have wandered the mountains in search of game, fish, and just flat loving the outdoors. My favorite was the photo of the giant grizzly footprint, it was one big bear! There are still great wild places, and he and his son are running an outfitter service to exactly such a place. And as you can see below they can get it done.

What a way to get in the real back country.
He went on to move to Montana to teach and explore. Throughout his time in the west he has hunted and fished big country. His son Jade is a big outdoorsman having spent his whole life on the water and woods of Montana. So I was so excited to see that they are now operating their guide business in some of the best hunting and fishing to be had. Having been fortunate enough to fish a western river for native cutthroats with them eating a dry, I can only imagine how fantastic their fishing must be. Being licensed in Montana and Idaho they can put you where you need to be when you need to be there. All of us just want a shot.
And yes, this is a well-deserved shameless plug. He “was” a good kid who grew up to be a good man. So, for those of you who are planning that bucket list trip of a lifetime, or just dreaming like we all do of a great outdoor adventure, please take a look at their site and put it in your favorites. Plenty going on around here but I did want to share their story with you. I feel like I am living my dream and I know they are living theirs. The outdoors is shrinking by the day, both physically and in places of solitude and grandeur. Truly getting away from it all is not getting any easier. So strap it on and head outdoors it is good for the soul. Keep stopping in and thanks for reading my stuff.
